Hi, all.

I noticed yesterday, that when I pressed the fob to lock the Disco doors, only the back doors locked. The front ones still had the "button" up. I unlocked and then locked after trying one of the doors (can't remember which) and everything locked properly as you'd expect. If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a child safety feature.

Is this a Disco feature, or is something malfunctioning?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris.

Your right it's a disco feature, "a malfunction"

Well, there's the drivers door central locking servo (master) that receives the signal to the ECU after you have pressed the button on the fob, it's located behind the glove box to lock/unlock the doors.
It could be a lazy (master) servo which has micro switches built into it to control the other (slave) servo's.
Just a bit of lubrication on the locking rods in the two doors maybe all thats needed. Lock and unlock 5 or 6 times can get things working again but only for a short while.

Cheers. Are the locking rods accesible from the hinge edge when the door is open? It's the rear ones that seem to stick.

No, you must take the door card off (get some spare clips as some will break) and you will see the the rods, servo (actuator), and the rest bits and bobs. WD 40 will get u going if thats the problem but it drys out after a time. I have used stuff that you spray on cycle chains in the past. spray the servo piston, just ease the plastic shrould away.
All doors are the same except the rear boot door that has a few more bits in it.
