Hi all
Sorry for starting a new thread on this, I asked this question on one of Mr robs old threads but just wanted to be clearer in the title of my question. I wonder if anyone has had experience of using Polybushes to replace the front diff mount. My last one (good quality rubber one) only lasted about 6 months and wondered if the polybushes were a good alternative. My VCU is new and drive tain is in good order so cant see why it would not last apart from crap quality parts. There will be less vertical movement of the diff with this kind of bush so wondered if this could cause problems elswhere in the drive train.
Thanks for any replies.
regards
Chris

I'm no expert, but my worry would be why did the last one wear out so quick?

If it was a poor quality, pattern part, that's not much of a concern, because genuine parts/OEM are dead cheap.

If it was a quality part, it should have lasted a lot longer. Did you check the alignment of the rear diff when you changed the mount? May be it is out of alignment - in which case a PU mount is going to transmit the strain to another (more expensive, more critical) component.

Cheers

hi blippie
good point i had precisely that concern regarding stressing other components. i bought an oem part now (cheaper than the last one ? ??). so will see how that fairs. do you have any suggestions for aligning the diff without the ld jig. cheers for the reply. regards chris
