the alarm on my 300tdi keeps going off for about 2 seconds at a time, every 15 mins or so. It started this morning and even did it while driving.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated before my girlfriend's neighbours kill me!!!!

Cheers

Favourite culprit is the under-bonnect switch that operates the alarm if the bonnet is opened. Strap it down with a cable tie and see if that cures it.

Have had similar thing with Vauxhall Omega and Renault Trafic van, salt gets into the switch during winter driving, and salt conducts electricity, and corrodes the guts of the switch.

I have the same when i go down gravel tracks at speed, there's a tilt switch in the ECU, that activates the horn & indicators. I've found the only way around it is to disconnect battery for 30 secs, and re-start.

My last disco kept going off. After about the fourth time late at night, i went out to give it it's last warning before i returned with serious cable cutting tools, i noticed i'd left the sunroof open!
The alarm started to do similar things to yours when the battery was going flat.
