Seat belt light on 97 Disco I

Hi everyone. My Disco is a NAS model so the driver is on the right side of the vehicle looking from the inside of the vehicle towards the hood. So there is something that is bothering me and couldn't find any info about it doing a search.

Sometimes when I'm driving the seatbelt light comes on, I notice that when this happens the dome light starts flickering, the rear fog lights won't work and a strange sound comes from under the dash on my side. It's a sound that could be something like intermittently scratching a cardboard with your finger nail. This can happen any time, but is more often after a car wash or some rain.

I remember that somewhere I read something about it, but couldn't find it any more.

Any ideas guys?

Check that you haven't got water in the relays and wiring that live down by the footwell behind the side panels.

Regular problem in wet countries, your problem coincides with rainy days, so almost certainly that is what it will be.

Yes, it's more often experienced when the Disco gets a bath. It can happen in a sunny day also, but that could be stored water. I''l look into this and let you guys know what happend.
