Knowledge required :)
I've got a 1989 rangie 3.9 V8 auto with a borg warner transfer box, which, on sunday decided to chew all its teeth off the main output shaft in the transfer box.
I've got the chance of a manual locking transfer box off a 1996 disco v8 3.9, guy will sell me all the levers and associated brackets off the gearbox, high low lever etc, question is will this fit directly onto my auto box, ie: does the disco share the same gearbox as the rangie, do the levers sit in the tunnel in the same place?.
I know I'll have to rig up a difflock light, thats not a problem, it's just will all the bits marry up?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Mike
