Hi Guys,
My dad has a problem with the rear window of his Freelander. The window has dropped as it does to open the door and now won't go back up again. It now doesn't go up and down when you open / close the door or with the button on the dash. Also as it's stuck down the rear wiper won't work either.
He's tried reseting it and he's had it put on diagnostics which said there was a possible rear wiper motor problem but after changing the wiper motor still nothing.
Any ideas?

Check the cables where they "bend" between the door and body, first.
Have you also checked that the cable hasn't broken and jammed?

Hi,
Ign 'on' and operate dashboard rocker switch. Listen carefully at the rear door. If the motor is spinning then most likely the drive cable has snapped.

No noise from motor: in the door jamb ease back the rubber harness protector tube. Connect voltmeter to either blue/black or blue/green cable. Have an assistant operate the dash rocker switch. You should hear two relays switching alternately behind the side trim panel above drivers side inner wheel arch. relays not clicking? check all window fuses esp F31 20A and link 4 80A.

Relays are clicking? you should see voltage on one cable and earth on the other cable. this polarity changes via the relays when the rocker switch is changed up to down etc.

All o.k so far? suspect wiring inside tail door or motor.

No voltage to cables? check wiring to relays.

Good luck.
