I'm on the verge of buying a new trailer, so (if possible) I'd like some unbiased 'owner feedback'

I've really got 2 in mind at the moment, sadly I cant swing her towards a braked 1300kg Ifor-Williams.

I did consider a Sankey, but the father-in-law borrows my current Caddy 535 & he couldn't tow a Sankey with his Mondeo

The ones I'm looking at are;
Ifor-Williams P6e (TG300521)
http://www.ifor-williams-trailers.co.uk/products/p6e.htm

And the Wessex UBGT64 -750
http://www.trailers.co.uk/wessex/ubgt64atv.htm
http://siteforsites.co.uk/armitagetrailers/unbraked_goods_trailers.htm

I'm a bit saddened that the I-W has such low sides (12") for such a decent looking trailer (local dealer about 4miles away)

No such details listed for the Wessex, still as Armitages (the Wessex dealer) is only about 7miles away I might go have a look on Friday after work.
Plus their price is over £100 less than http://www.trailers.co.uk/

Does anyone have either of these trailers and can praise (or castigate), or indeed can offer a comparable (capacity & price-wise) alternative

He keeps looking at 5-door FreeLanders.
I keep offering to sell him my Discovery so I can buy myself a Coniston Green Defender 110Tdi CSW

Richard,
Just found this thread, sorry if I'm too late! I use an Ifor quite a bit, I suspect it's pretty much the braked equivalent of what you are looking at.

It's well made. It's very very light but behaves itself superbly on the road, when empty or fully loaded, and it really can carry quite a load. The low sides are extremely useful for loading/unloading, but a pain as they limit what you can carry and how you have to secure / carry it. If you can run to a set of removable high sides it would be a good investment.

If you can run to a braked trailer (or persuade SWMBO to...:D) it's well worth it - I've used both braked and unbraked. It hardly takes anything to go over 500 / 750kg, and then it's very reassuring to feel the trailer helping you stop!

HTH :)

Thanks for that useful information Bernie.

I went out today to Leeds as there's a branch of Indespension on the outskirts.
Ireally went to look at their 'Challenger' range (seems too expensive)

In the yard were some Belgian(?) trailers on special offer
http://www.blueline-trailers.co.uk/product/Anssems/anssems.htm

(not the right website, but they don't feature on Indespensions)

The Gt 750 is on offer at a 'towaway price' of £440, it's listed at £675.00(inc delivery & VAT)

It's admittedly not as 'heavy-duty' as the other 2, but I'm not sure if that's actually an issue for me.
It is double-skinned, so will look presentable for a (possible) future sale.
The only grumble I have with it, no ramp tail-gate option.

Anybody got one??
Anssem???
