D2 V8 water trickling / running sound???

Hello all.

Apologies as this has been covered before but I cannot remember the post.

My D2 V8 has started to make a trickling sound like water is running over the back of the engine,a little like a mobile water feature :p. I remember that this was not a good sign of something but I cannot remember what. Please can someone enlighten me?

I have noticed a small loss of fluid out of the cooling system (200ml) but there are no leaks under the car (it stands all week) and I cannot see signs of coolant under the engine / on chassis members. The floor mats on both the driver and passenger side remain dry.

Any assistance pointing me in the right direction will be appreciated.

It might be leaking at the back of the head gaskets, your are best to get underneath when you have done a run, and look up towards the back of the exhaust manifold and look when the cylinder head joins the block.

If it is that, a re-torque of the heads might get you out of it.
