Morning - just a quick query to confirm if my lift pump is working as expected.

TDi300 EDC 97 model:

If I turn the engine over to get the cam in the appropriate position to allow the lift pump priming lever to do it's thing, I find I only get about 1/2" stroke resistance on the primer lever. Does this seem about right or should I be able to get a good long pump ?

Cheers

This is the thing to prime the fuel system after changing the under bonnet fuel filter yes?
Last time I did this, there was a definite range of movement which noticeably increased when I aligned the cam, accompanied by what felt like a pressure build up behind the lever. There was also a discernible 'click' feeling to the lever about half way through its stroke.
hehe, is hard to explain, but I'm sure the movement of the lever covered a greater range of movement than a half inch.

yes that's the one. Sounds like mine is not developing the full stroke in that case.

Thanks for the info.
