Best engine oil for tdv6

hi all, i am going to give my baby a nice good oil change but only want the best stuff in it so any recommendations? and also any good tips... i was going to use a cheaper oil and run for a few days then use the good stuff to make sure i get all the old crap out as i recently bought her and would like to give it a good service for my piece of mind....

Slight misunderstanding, do you have a TDV6 or a TD6, from lookin at the picture its a LM range rover so would be a TD6. They reccomend castrol 5w30 oil thinks its like 8 - 9 litres have to double check

If its a td6 then its 0-30 fully synthetic magnitec, as fosh says its about 8.5-8.8 litres with a filter change.

castrol web site recons 5w40 and in the book its 5w 30/ 5w40/ 10w30/ 10w40 so i just ordered 9l of 5w40 castrol edge....100 quids worth:-(
