The remote fob operation of the central locking on my 1997 300Tdi auto Jap import packed up but all doors still lock off the drivers door. I have decided to fit an alarm as my vehicle does not have one, this will also give me remote fob operation of the central locking again. I have looked through Rave but cannot find where the factory controller for the remote central locking is as I need to hook the alarm up to this. Any ideas?
Thanks
Adrian

Not fully sure about jap imports but this might be right if you have a single button key fob.
The ecu which normally controls the central locking and alarm functions is a green box located on its side on a rack behind the passenger side glove box on a right hand drive car.
Its easy enough to spot , it has a coaxial cable plug plugged into its side.
This is the central locking aerial which goes up passenger A post behind plastic trim.
The ECU is numbered AMR 2109.
Hope this helps

I fitted a Cobra remote alarm system to my old RR. The alarm controller had an output for central locking so all I had to do was to change the actuator in the drivers door for a Cobra one which was on the options list. When finished I pressed the fob button which set the alarm and locked the doors, standard stuff and it was an easy installation.
