can anyone tell me the location of the D2 ACE pump and also, if anyone has a 'how to' guide on replacement?
Thanks - Max

Depends on the engine, it is normally next to the power steering pump, it shares a split reservoir with the power sterring system.

I have the US version 4.6l V8.
I know it shares the same reservoir as the PS system but i cannot locate the actual ACE pump.

Offside (RHD cars in the UK) between body and chassis about halfway along.
Is the pump shot or have you got leaky pipes? If it is a leak, the further out from the block the better (for joining in new) as trying to fix a leak close up against the pump is hellish.

Thanks for that . . . i have a USA spec 4.6L V8.
I have also contributed to the thread you sent. Not quite sure what the problem is but there were leaky pipes which have been fixed. Ever since, i have a rattling noise coming from the RH Floorpan. It could be the pipes or it could be the pump on the way out :(

Rattling from the RHS floor pan area on a UK Td5 can be a loose exhaust heat shield (had this) just below and inboard of the drivers seat area (roughly from memory). Not sure about yours, but worth a look.

Checked and its deffo not the heat shield. Its now driving me on brink of deciding to disconnect the ACE system as the cost of changing the pipes/pump and diagnostics is going to be high.
Any threads on 'how to' ?
Cheers!
