Hi guys,
Got myself an EGR removal kit, taken the day off work to do some odd jobs on the car & cant get the old one to budge at all. I was worried i was going to round bolts or snape something, then i would be in a mess.
Does anyone have any tips for making come off please.
Thanks very much

A tip I was given when I did mine -
the night before , soak all bolts with wd40
resoak before you start the job and then start the engine and let it run up to temperture
everythings nice and hot so be CAREFUL
bolts all came out of mine very easily ! :)
Hope this helps , Scott

I have been using a product called 'Frost Bite' by Comma, it literally freezes your nuts off! I think there are other makes available, it's an aerosol product, spray it on and leave for 2-3 minutes and usually does the job.
Somebody I know swears by using a cola drink poured over the rusty bolt/nuts!

Hi,i did the same as scott for removing, the only problem was when fitting the blanking plate,i didnt tighten the bolts enought and when i started the engine it was blowing from the manifold.i give it one more turn to tighten it up when snap i was left with a bolt head on my allen key and a stud in the manifold,it was a tw*t to remove and took 2 hours to remove.when i checked the new bolts they where poor quality and shorter than the standard bolts.i put the orignal bolts in and straight away solved the problem,no leaks and no weird noises.

As Scott says, apply WD40 the night before (do it a couple of times), worked for me. A longer Allen key will help to "pop" the bolts.
