Fairey Capstan?

Anybody got one of these? Its a long shot but thought it worth a try. Very annoying....I liked the idea that it had a hardy spicer UJ on it too, so it was really easy to change/get spares for the UJ, I reckon ill end up with a fairey one with a stupidly priced UJ :(!

Oh dear! I've got a working Aeroparts capstan, rusting away outside. I'd better get it indoors and give it some TLC.

The thing is, it's going to be a pig to get off. I tried before and the bolts are absolutely solid. If I'm going to spend half a day getting it free, then I want to use it for my 2a project. Sorry.

But cheer up, there's another one on e-bay. er, only £250 :eek:

Thats the wrong type....from an S1...plus it has the really complicated drive shaft assembly, Id ideally want the one with a simple shaft, spring and drive dog.

Anybody else?

Sorry to read you missed out on the capstan winch you were after, however go back to the e-bay site you quoted, and on the same page there are similar items listed including another capstan winch, that another look, it may just do the job.

As a mater of interest i have a complete capstan winch and all attachments including dog coupling to a Landrover 4 cylinder motor for Sale.
But I am all the way down under, Australia.
