Just had a new warning light or blip in the computer system, a waning signal appears when I brake it consists of a 4 axle light in red with a cross circled between the axles front and back , the front axles slighly turned. This is not recognizable , so can someone enlighten me?
I am running a TD5 GS 51 PLATE.

I recall reading somewhere that whilst your vehicle may not have an owner-operated difflock, the dealers can and do operate the difflock during servicing and must undo it before giving it back to the customer.

Have you had a service recently done by an LR dealer? If not it's done it by itself !!!!

Hi thanks for your reply, I didn,t know there was a difflock on a disco2, I thought that the traction control did that job now, however I wiil have to get a look under and see whats what, and no it has no servicing lately, only a check to clear the TC AND ABS AND DESCENT light, it noticed that the rear sensor on the ABS was a bit dodgy.
The light is in red anyway.

I am now a bit old,so my memory isn't as good as it once was, however,I may have remembered another post about this,or was it my own car?

Enough rambling, check your brake light bulbs,as this warning light may have a second function as a tell tale for a duff bulb, given that there's no difflock.
It's red in my car too,it's just the handbook which says it's orange.

Nick

From the owner/operators viewpoint it is the traction control system that does it, but the difflock bits are still in the tranny box and as I said the dealer sometimes needs to put the box in difflock to test certain aspects of the car.

Sometimes they forget to take it out of difflock again, before handing it back to the customer.
