Hi all,
1997 tdi I dont know the model but it has a badge on the wing with a 5 in it.

Righteo the probs are: passenger door not locking with the centarl locking, took off the motor in passenger door and checked the wiring for current when the keyfob button was pressed (Two button keyfob). current was present. I then put all back together and the owner was pressing the button on the keyfob while I checked the current was making it all the way to the motor when the keyfob stopped working! Tried the spare keyfob but no joy. checked every fuse in the fuse box under the steering column but all were fine. checked the fuses under the bonnet again, all okay. tried pressing the button on the drivers door to lock but nothing!!?
Any Ideas.
Can i just disconnect the battery to re-set they system?
help please.

I gues no-one can help then. oh well I'll just disconnect the battery and see if the sysytem re-sets itself.

What I have found works is this:

Turn the ignition on, then off and within 15 seconds, remove the negative battery lead.

Leave it off for 5 mins with the keys still in the ignition, then reconnect the battery negative and this usually resets the fob-locking mechanism.
