Jap Import Stereos

Hi Fellas,

Trying to fit a band expander to my '98 Jap Import Disco XS.

Trouble is, although its a 'standard' DIN size slot, I cant get the thing out!!

It has 2 allen key bolts in small holes either side and having undone them, it moved forward about 5mm......!

Any ideas would be appreciated as my kids are getting fed up listening to classic FM!!

hi Bob if you get a pair of stereo release wires you push them in the holes where the grub screws (allen screws)came out of
The stereo should then come out of the dash

Right, so the Allen screws come all the way out?

Yes, take the small grub screws out completely, then insert the std removal tools. Radio will pull/slide out then.
