Jump Seats TD2 Disco 2000

Hi All, My right hand jump seat is stuck with the back rest down - I cant get it to come up, it locks into the floor ok but then its just stuck. Any Ideas Please.:)

There is a cable that runs round the bottom of the seat which is connected to the locking mechanism. try giving it a pull. Also, the locking mechanism sometimes sticks. Try a squirt of spray grease inside the part of the mechanism that locks to the small bar set in the floor and give it a waggle to work the grease round. (It worked on mine).

The mechanism is designed to ensure that the seat back cannot be raised unless the seat is locked to the floor. Sticking of the mechanism is quite a common problem.

Try also giving the locking level a waggle when you try to lift the seat back.

Had that problem also - if you 'feel around ' under the seat there is a hooked locking device which usually gets stiff but you can move it into position with your finger . Once this locks the seat back will come up .
Will check exact location later if you can't locate it .
In my case I had the seat out recently to replace the fuel pump and I discovered it was the hooked part that was stiff rather than the cable .
