There have been a few threads on svo etc on here but one of the important ones mentions how the CAV injection pump clags up - terminally - on the stuff.
The Sherpa / 90 engine pump can cope but not the other - over time of course.
Just a thought

I suppose this is when people use neat cooking oil? I have added White Spirit which makes it less gloopy.
Any thoughts?

Depending on the type, your White Spirit may not have duty paid, so you have to be careful.
You could get the same viscosity reduction by using plain old unleaded petrol (I do), it's usually cheaper than White Spirit and it has paid the duty. About 1 part petrol to about 6 parts oil normally works for me - but I only use new Rapeseed Oil from Bookers (80 pence per litre).
