HI Guys, In recent weeks my TD4 has dveleoped a rumbling from underneath, suspecting bearing problems in the drive mechanism I had mt local indy have a look at it. He reported that all the bearings were fine, no problem; but the rumbling noise was emanating from an out of shape offside rear tyre. He showed the problem and although the tyre has good tread depth some of the tread blocks on the inner side of the tyre had sunk. This created a very uneven running surface which you could feel just running your hand around the srface of the tyre. I've never heard this one before, just wondered if this could help anyone lese or if others have experienced the same or similar problems with tyres. The current tyres are Goodyear Wrangler HP's, used them for years without problem ,usually something like 37k - 38K miles per set.

We get that on cars with Event and Hankook tyres.

I've had several out of shape tyres. You see cars on the road with them regularly. If its bad you see the back of the car shifting about when its going slowly. I came to work behind a colleague once and when we stopped at work I offered to tell them why the back of their car had a bit of a wobble at slow speeds, it was that obvious.
