View Full Version : Solved my "immobiliser problem" - despite being an idiot

Was concerned as to why the hazard lights came on every time I turned the key...

...got in touch with Land Rover, resoldered the spider, tried the EKA code but nothing worked. Every time I turned the key, the hazard lights came on...

...or at least, that's what I thought. Peering out of the driver's seat, I could see them on and the light was flashing in the dash...

...this has been going on for a couple of weeks...

...today, saw the indicator stalk was pushed up (i.e. signalling right). Idiot.

Still won't start, but think it's the feed to the starter solenoid so easier to solve, I hope!

As it turns out, immobiliser (spider) was at fault. Have bypassed it and get a click from the starter solenoid, but it's not engaging the main terminals. At least I know that the car should work once that's replaced...

Got the car started this evening. Starter solenoid was bodged up to work, but not perfect (throws in and out OK, but starter keeps spinning)

OK, solenoid stopped working, not sure why, so bought a new motor/solenoid combo from another forum member. Bolted it on this afternoon and she fired right up!! At last!!
