My wifes 1.6JLX has been a quiet as a baby since she's had it, unlike the one I had that was cammy as heck.
But it's developed a funny metallic "Ticking" noise, not all the time, and only on tickover... Tried screwdriver to ear on the rocker cover, but nothing there, it's slightly more noticeable from the injector unit... Any ideas?
The car still runs well, although a month or so ago, it ran really badly, and wouldn't tick over without stalling, so I cleaned the plugs, air filter and put flushy stuff in the petrol tank, and one of them sorted it out after a hard rort around the block.
Also OOOHH Boy, does a Vitara wipe the inside edge of the front tyres fast when the tracking drops out... Got it adjusted now, but it took about 4 days to wipe the tread on the inside of the drivers side tyre.... We came out of Nottingham Ikea yesterday, and I thought the tyre looked a bit odd as we walked up to the car, and when I looked, there was less than 1/2 MM on the inside, against about 5-6 MM over the rest of the tyre... I know it was good less than a week ago, because I had the front wheels off to check the front brakes (wuz getting a brake squeel while going along)
