when i bought my td5 some scrote had tried to open the door with a screwdriver and again recently.i bought a second hand door handle with lock and key.works fine but every time i open the door after unlocking with the key the alarm goes off. any ideas.

That's how it should be, u can lock with key but must unlock via the remote. The info is in the owners handbook.

ok cheers for that.why do they bother with a door lock if you cant lock and unlock normally seems daft.

The only thing that locking by the key does is isolate the ultrasonic movement sensor in the cab so if you are leaving say a pet in the vehicle for a short time it will not set of the alarm but he sensor is not that sensive any way, unlike the ones used with intruder alarm systems.

well i tried that put the dog in the boot,the alarm went off still .then i left the sunroof open and eventually the alarm went off.have i got a faulty system.

I appears so, locking with the key should isolate.. it will tell you that your handbook.
