my 04 plate TD5 has begun a serious life of poor running.
it will tick over fine after it eventually starts!
however, give it any throttle and it wallows and coughs big time.
i have replaced the injector loom as i was told by a independant landy dealer than this is a item they'd replace before even hooking it up to their diaog machine.
anyone have any thoughts?
cheers, tim.

What sort of mileage, and has the fuel pump been noisy lately?

Have you cleaned the MAP? It only takes 10 mins to do and then it's out of the way.
Also ditto for the MAF?
How do you clean the MAF? These things have developed over the years, they used to be very fragile.
I noticed it has a little grid fitted. Can you just blow it out with compressed air? I presume you cannot use aggressive solvents, right?

I'm a bit hesitant to clean the MAF due to it's Thin Film Technology, but if I did I would be using switch cleaner and letting the solvent do the work, rather than apply high air pressure.
However cleaning the MAP (I did mine yesterday) is a different matter altogether. I believe it to be a more robust unit and when I took it out yesterday I found it was caked in oily crud. I used WD-40 and washed it clean with that and then reinstalled.
It might easily be just my imagination, but I felt on the run afterwards that the car ran a bit smoother and better on climbing hills.

when you replaced the injector loom did you check the red plug on the ECU for oil contamination?
