Hi guys,

Follow on from my sitiuation in the thread here...Gah! Urgent help bleeding slave cylinder needed! - Land Rover UK Forums (http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php?p=1357405#post1357405) .

Basically, had the Master replaced today but the garage are saying the clutch still doesnt seem to be getting full travel, that it feels almost like theirs air in the system (they've bled it 4 times - liquid coming out only), but taking the floor mat up seems to give you just enough travel!

Does this imply a pedal adjustment - or something else?

Thanks for any ideas... :)

I would say one more session bleeding the clutch would help.

I have done several recently and I found the following method worked really well for the final bleed:

Using an assistant, get them to press and hold down the clutch pedal, while it's held down (creating pressure in the slave) open, purge and close the slave cylinder bleed nipple. You shouldn't need to leave it open for more than a second or two.

Do that two or three times to get the last bit of air out, them you should have good clutch pressure.
