Hi all, I`m a camping novice as far as taking the family away is concerned and before I start trolling through the sites I thought I`d ask if anyone knows a good site in the north that offers something for the kids to do and most importantly allows dogs.
Cheers

Is that
North as it Watford?
North as in Derbyshire
North as in Yorkshire/Lakes
North as in Northumberland
North as in South Scotland
Or North
When you drive from down here to Skye, it's over 600 miles. As you approach Skye, there' s signpost for a road on the right. It simply says "The North".
How far north is the north you are thinking of?
We do a lot of family camping but on remote no-facility sites. That way you don't have to have a site with things for kids to do, they don't have a spare moment. Hills, mountains, rivers etc. Who needs facilities?

A little bit of info is needed here!
How far do you wanna travel?
As for kids, like greyback says, you dont need a site with loadsa facilites,
Kids will,or should make there own fun, without the need of arcades and the such like.
So Tinker, have you any idea of where you want to camp? :)
Pete :)

Agree with that, our times on quieter non commercial sites have been just as much, if not more fun than when using commercial sites.

Whoa there amigos and I`ll try to be more specific.
Just a normal campsite is what I`m after as my kids are more into dogs than amusements and as for location I`m in Derbyshire and as my vehicle is new (to me) I don`t want to be setting my sights to far away. So shall we say within a couple of hours drive. Any direction will be fine.
Its the dog friendliness that I`m having trouble with.

Hi Tinker,
Petes mrs here...
Check out my thread on great campites at the top of this forum... you will see my fave site there. Its a bit further afield for you but well worth a visit.
Loads to do and see in the area and some great easy lanes for driving.
Don't forget to tell us if you find a great site.
