I know how this sounds..... a big dreaming kid wants to do a massive drive for charity to be just like Charlie Boorman and co.

Seriously, In the summer of next year (2010), I plan to embark on an expedition anticlockwise around the med in aid of Help For Heroes.

I go to Pangbourne College in Berkshire, which is a school steeped in naval tradition. I am heavily involved in the CCF (Royal Marines and RAF) and plan on a career with the Fleet Air Arm.
I feel that Help For Heroes is the most deserving charity of them all, supporting our troops out in foreign theatres, and those back home who have given so much for their country.

The journey will take us through 13 countries.
UK
France
Spain
Morocco
Algeria
Tunisia
Libya
Egypt
Jordan
Syria
Turkey
Greece
Italy

This thread is to make people aware of the expedition, although in its early stages, much planning has already been done in the way of obtaining Visas, Fixers and assessing the political stability of the countries we will visit.

The one thing i am unsure of is what do i need by way of a Spares Package?
The Main vehicle we will be using is a 1981 Series 3 pickup, it has just undergone a major engine rebuild: replacing the head, pushrods, injectors, exhaust. Courtesy of Rovertune Ltd.
Aswell as having new parabolics and dampers all round, it has had new brake shoes and cylinders fitted all round aswell.

I would be thankfull for any advice/information anyone may have about the expedition.
I am also on the lookout for some of the vital accesories required for the North African part (sand ladders, jerry cans, roof tent etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don' tknow if he's a member on here but if you go to Landyzone & search for threads by "Griffdowg", he has lots of experience of North Africa...
