Anyone else got it?

I had a minor issue with a bug*ered Sata cable but after that it installed perfectly. Really liking it, so much quicker than XP, Much nicer on the eyes

Not had alot of time to test it but so far so good :)

Also because i am a student, i paid £30 for it

I've got it, installed it on Tuesday. I had Vista before and this is much quicker, some of the features take abit of getting used to, but on the whole it is a HUGE improvement on Vista :D

I'm also a student, but as i'm a student on a computing course i got it for free ;)

Did you have to use a ".ac.uk" address to get that? It certainly looks brilliant if I could do that, but my student/school emails dont have that suffix (mine have .org.uk)...so??!

Edit: Ah just put in some other details and I might still be able to get it.. :)

Yup.

You have to jump through a Few hoops if you don't want to use the upgrade function and install from scratch.

Just got it on a new laptop. Still finding my way around but so far looks good. The problem I have is I am used to using Outlook Express and it doesnt come with anything and so have had to download live mail. Not so sure on this yet.

You could join the partner programme for MS. Then for £199 per year you essentially get ALL the MS software with ten licences for things such as Office and the operating systems.

Although it helps owing a company :D

I think there's about £12k worth of software provided. However, you have to state that you are "in the trade".

Have 6 W7 licences, will put it a laptop this weekend and see what happens!!!

The Registered Partner Programme doesnt give software until you join the Action Pack which I assume is which you mean ? as this is £199... They just went discless which is great as you can download instantly and I have been running Final Windows 7 from them well before it was out in the shops to test with.. All legal and all above board.

They added a test now so you have to pass and get 80 percent on some pretty basic questions about selling their software and stuff.

Anyway :) Windows 7..... LOVELY... smaller resource footprint than XP... I think MS really realise the screwed up with VISTA... FYI Windows 7 sold more in pre release orders than VISTA did in an entire YEAR.... .How scary is that....

Did you know that Windows 7 was my idea?

Yes, they told me it was your idea, but they also told me you thought of Vista, so we'll call it even! :D

I've currently got Windows XP, which with next new update seems to run a bit slower.. do you tihnk it's worth upgrading to windows 7, or wait till service pack 1 is released first?

i currently have it running on 2 pcs and 2 laptops at home and im well impressed. been running it on 1 laptop as dual boot since first beta. as soon as it was available i upgraded all my systems that would cope with it.

would be running it on my work pc but cant get a driver for the soundcard so i upgraded that to vista instead. untill i can find an excuse to aquire one of the spare pcs that came in last week think i may need to test one of them for a bit.

if your pc is good enough to run it go for it you wont be disapointed.
