Hi guys

i have a 300tdi disco and want to jet wash the engine bay as when i removed the sound deadening cover to on top of the rocker cover to do the timing belt i found oil on the cylinder head along the ridge where the cylinder head bolts are but seems to be lower than the rocker cover i am pretty certain the rocker gasket is not leaking and there is not anything ells around there that could leak oil so maybe when it was last serviced before we bought it that they may have spilt oil or done a job on it and not cleaned it up. i noticed it when we first got it about 3 months and it hasn't got any worse and no drips on the floor just want to clean it off so i can check also the oil level has stayed the same.

Just avoid the obvious stuff like the alarm sounder and you will be fine. When I did my disco I just opened the bonnet and went to town. No hassles.

Oh also avoid the alternator.

Be worth spraying it with a degreaser before you start with the pressure washer.

I would cover the power steering & clutch fluid reservoirs with a plastic bag before you start. ;)

Lidls are selling cans of engine cleaner at the mo, just spray liberally an hour or so before jetwash.

i use pound shop oven cleaner on the worst bits, just make sure you keep it away from the plastic bits.
