Any idea on the cost of replacing the gearbox on a 2000 td4?

Give or take £100 is fine...

Thanks.

When you say 2000 td4 that should be an L series engine not a td4, if its a 2001 then its a td4. What reg is the no plate.

Next quetion....

Is it possible AT ALL to replace the clutch without removing the drive shafts?

No you cant, you need to remove the IRD which has one shaft in it and the gear box which you are also removing has the other shaft into it.

In which case it seems as those nice guys who got paid hundreds didnt even bother to change the clutch they got paid for.

It seems by the bolts the drive shafts havent moved.

& it may now be the IRD that gone...

Its up on ramps tomorrow...

You dont need to remove the driveshafts from the hubs if that is what you mean im sorry i probably got the wrong end of the stick. You must remove the shafts from the inner end (gearbox and IRD) but they can be left in the hubs and be left to hang down hop this clears things up.
