Hello,

I am brand new to the Land Rover world as I just bought myself an old surplus short wheel base rover here in Trinidad. I beleive it was first delivered to local military here in about 1982 or 83 and the Chassis # SALCBAAH1AF 54222. The body is pretty straight and it runs and is drivable. Ive been wanting one for a real long time.

I want to find out what I can about my rover starting with exactly what model it is using the Chassis #. I then need to locate some parts and repair manuals either through LR or aftermarket to be my guide for restoration and repairs.

Welcome to the forum.

You can find a lot of information online regarding manuals and parts lists, but my preference is to get them on a CD for your PC to save time.

There is a list of chassis numbers on here somewhere for you to identify it. Just search the threads. The Maintenance articles are well worth a look too.
