To paraphrase Tom Lehrer "Imagine, if you will, that I'm driving an 88" Defender". After 5 years of tearing bits off, not always on purpose, and several rolling rebuilds my S111 now looks like this. It has to look fairly non-descript, living on a street in Leith ain't the best place to park an outwardly offensive motor.
Alan, thanks for the advice on V8's - new one is well underway.:) :)

I suspect Hingmy is referring to his own cloud of oil, which aint that bad. All in his mind if you ask me.
The worst oil cloud was probably that fateful day that I towed the green hybrid you see above you (was blue at the time) from Auchtermuchty to South Queensferry. It was probably the hottest day of the year, and my poor old Range Rover had two blown head gaskets and a sick TF727. The wee hill on the M90 towards Kelty, was too much and she brewed. Engine and gearbox brewed together, boiling ATF pouring from the torque convertor housing, which poured onto the Y pipe of the exhaust, which burnt and made one hell of a mess.

Highway Star's Rangey was indeed very sick that day. My pre-V8 2.25 beat him up the bank on the journey up and I'd just like to apologise to him for eating all the pies on the way back- the additional weight was just too much.

And they all lived happily ever after.
