I always use Footman James (http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/site/default.asp) - competitive premiums which include breakdown and relay, fast service, good with claims, know what a Land Rover is.

Not sure the website works very well. I usually phone them: 0845 458 6791.

Mine are covered for Europe + Switzerland + Norway, not necessary to give prior notice of journeys of less than 35 days.

Off road - yes for what I use it for, ie getting to fields to get to horses etc. Not sure if it woud be covered for 'off road leisure use' / green lanaing though... :dunno:

IIRC my '97 Defender was about 200-odd a year fully comp, full NCB. me 42, wife 43.

Have been with the NFU since getting me landy, is now £450 protected fully comp, windscreen breakage cover, breakdown cover in the all EU countries, off road and business too. Were excellent when me truck got nicked!

Tis only a 1992 D90 but I am only 25, so is very good and they also know what a land rover is! Oh and you don't have to be a farmer to be insured by them!

Cheers

£289.00 for my Discovery, including SWMBO, with Adrian Flux.
Only minus point is the extra fee they want for change of details.

It cost me £15.00 to inform them of a change of address!!!
Surely a legal requirement like that ought to be free????
And that reminds me, after almost 3months I still haven't got written confirmation from them.

That is a rip-off. FJ don't charge for any changes :yay: This past year I've swapped vehicles backwards and forwards. Today, just added my son for 3 weeks, 20 quid premium (17-y-o, provisional licence)

Have you tried insurance through Land Rover they gave me the best quote with lots of other benifits.

I found all the specialist insurance companies but found that Admiral.com gave the best price by quite a margin. Everybody is different though, more down to stuff like occupation and post code rather than age or NCB these days.

I used Adrian Flux, good price, and gives me offroad cover included in the price. £280 - and I'm 41 with f.n.c.

I'm with Adrian Flux too. £301, with European recovery too. This is a second vehicle too. Direct Line came close, but I do have my other car insured with them.
