ok ok ok daft question alert!
What stops the rainwater that's sucked into a snorkel from getting into the engine?
I had a horrible though the other day: a gang of yooof pouring stuff into a snorkel for a laaff.

Stick to edge goes out slits.
Your car would suck up rain anyway!

I thought a similar thought last night when I hit a 'puddle' at about 35 mph and sent a spray up which engulfed my disco. But as Si guru said it will just come out the slits where the top goes onto the tube. If someone maliciously poured liquid in to fill it up it would come out of the drain hole in the air box that you purposely didn't block when you fitted the snorkel! To be honest, the sort of t*at who would do such a thing probably hasn't got the brain power to think of doing it in the first place. They would probably just key the truck instead as that doesn't take much mental ability.
