Seen the new Disco today,30th Aug. registered `04 and running through Paisley. Followed it down the A736 where it eventually turned off and headed up a `B` road. It was welly boot green and undisguised apart from no Discovery badges, although the LR oval was on it. The bland colour, it was also pretty dirty, meant that it didn`t stand out, which is maybe the idea. Is the official launch still November, if so then assume this is dealers demo from LR. Its the first one I`ve seen..or have I just not been paying attention.

I saw a Pale Gold one on the A515 going away from Hartington towards Ashbourne this morning. No disguise at all and it appeared to have all the badges on.

I can confirm that sighting! Saw it too!

In fact I've seen one or two about on the road. That's not including all the ones I've seen on transporters on the M42 (no big surprise).

I have seen it several times around there. Sometimes it is towing a fair size farm type trailer. First time I saw it wa squite early this year and it was camo'd up. Gradually it has uncovered and revealed itself. Must be some sort of appraisal/testing route. I also saw a load of them on the M5 about 3 months ago.

Not really... theses aren't demo's, they are production proving vehicles. Typically they produce are 300 of these for testing and driving round to see what falls off (I had an X400 Jag for a while for the same purpose). The colours are really just conicidental, although any new colours tended to be tries out more.
They do use some of these for the lauch, but they tend to be "tweeked" first so should look really good and go very very well!

Morning all

I travel across Salisbury plains every day and early July saw a procession of three of the LR3s backwards and forwards for about a week across the main area of the plains roads, three different colours red, blue and a pale green. They had no disguise or packing but were clearly left dirty for that reason. I have already been invited to a launch up at the Great Tythe Barn in Gloucestershire by or local dealer in October so hope to have some fun whilst I am there.

If its March delivery on the new one it either means they have taken a lot of orders already or perhaps the launch date is not going to be November?

Could we see the current shape still on sale in the new year?

In line with all PAG new cars, the launch date is well in advance of the "on-sale" date to generate a waiting list..... helps make the product desirable.

They will need to build up a sales inventory in the field too.

Saw a car transporter with at least 3 new Disco 3s on it this morning heading down the M3 to southampton. A couple of Range Rovers on board as well. Possibly heading to dealers but could have been heading to the docks to be dispatched abroad somewhere. Two black and one silver (I think).
