Difflock Bulb (help)

Hello again all,

I need to check if my difflock bulb is working in my 97 disco.
Anybody know how to check this without dismantling the dash:eek:

Any help appreciated.

Reach over the top of the diff and pull the connector, then short it to see if light comes on. Well I think you can simply pull it off, memories going a bit on that one. Haynes manual was quite good for it if I remember rightly.

Are you actually getting the diff to lock ? when mine didn't comr on it was becuase the diff wasn't locked despite the lever being in the right place. Wiggles and tightened up the 'washers' on the mechanism above the diff and it all started working again. I now regularly put it into diff lock to exercise the mechanism.

Thanks for the reply,

I have jacked the front of the disco up and put it in neutral then turned one of the wheels. I then pushed the diif lock lever over to the left, but no dash light and the wheel still only moves on its own, I think its not engaging and I may have to get dirty or take it to the local LR dealer:eek:

p.s. will i notice a difference in the feel of the lever when i finaly get it working?
