Have just had new tires (General Grabber AT2's at 245/75R16) fitted along with a Scorpion Racing 1" suspension lift, steering damper, deCarbon all round, 20% stiffer springs in front, 25% stiffer springs rear. It has completely transformed the Disco and I am dead happy!
In my garage I have a Safari snorkel, steering guard with jacking and recovery points and rock sliders. Will hopefully fit them this weekend. Whatch's this space.
The guys (and girls) at Scorpion racing is absolutely fantastic. Best service I've had in a very very long time. Absolutely recommended!

Thanks guys!
Today I've mostly been struggling trying to get my rock sliders fitted. What a bloody nightmare! Took 4 hours to get one side done, hopefully tomorrow will get the other side done quicker. The holes in the sliders does not match the holes in the body, the little spacers they give you is awkward to say the least and then I broke the front retaining bolt off at the head! Just me being a monkey trying to tighten the bolt too much!
Also finally got my hole cutters delivered for my Safari snorkel so if all goes well will have that fitted this week as well.
Then, need to remove the vallance on the front bumper, trim the end caps and fit my steering guard.
So much to do, so little time!

Sliders are both on! What a struggle as very few of the damn LR holes actually lined up with the ones on the sliders! Anyway, all done and very pleased. Bought from Rebel4x4 for £160.
Coming next is the steering guard and snorkel.

So with the suspension upgrade and the new tyres how much did it cost?? :)
Looks nice. What's it like off road :)

Money spent so far:
1" lift + steering damper, HD springs - Scorpion racing: £620 all in
5 General Grabber AT2's incl fitting : £430
Rock sliders - Rebel 4x4 : £160
Steering guard - Paddocks : £85 (going to tray and fit it today)
Safari snorkel - Paddocks : £175
I've not taken her off road yet. Am planning a weekend towards the end of the month. On road handling has drastically improved with much less body roll and a much better feel even at motor way speeds.

Do I take it that Scorpion offer a fitting service, or did you fit the lift yourself?

Scorpion did the lift, I did everything else.
I cut my bumper end caps, removed the vallance and installed the steering guard. Pics to follow tomorrow.
I suppose you're getting all your bits and pieces on before you change your avitar!
Looking good.

Hello SVENUK,
If your talking about the little flatbar pieces then if you look on the front at the top of every slider there is a raised bit, they slide in underneath the raised front section to provide somewhere where the front body section can attach to. Don't worry, it all makes sense when you hold the slider up against the body.
One piece of advice, the little bolt that is supposed to go in through the body and screw into this plate (is not included in the package) should be 6mm thread sizex12mm length. Any longer and it will push through the flatbar and against the rock slider. When this happened to me I twisted the the little bolt's head off! It took me 3 long hours to get that little headless bolt out so I could put another one in. Also, I couldn't find 6x12mm bolts so had to buy a 6x20mm and cut it shorter with my Dremel tool.
Good luck fitting it though, I think the first side took me 4.5 hours and theother side took less than 2 hours so give yourself a whole day and make sure you have everything handy (which I didn't) so you don't need a few trips to B&Q and back.

Nice new indicators. They go well with the Silver. Looking very nice now.
Did you cut down the front end caps or are they new ?

Hello DiscoverV8, cheers! Nope, they are the old ones, I cut them down with a hacksaw. Took about 5mins to do both!

Hi Defender,
I like the look of those. I think I will do the same. Did you do it with them on or off the Discovery.
I took the front valance of my old Range Rover and it made it look much better.
Just got the 300TDi back today after a gearbox rebuild and new clutch. The Mainshaft went last week on the way to work so will have to start saving the pennies again to start adding the bit I was intending to add next.
Is it still the standard 300 TDi engine or have you tweeked it for off road?

DiscoveryV8, if your refering to the new indicators then it's very easy to fit. There is a little spring inside the engine compartment that lifts up and then they come away. No need to remove anything, no tools required and it takes 5 mins!
On the list of things to do is a bigger intercooler and tweaking of the air electricery thingy (Allisport quoted me £620 if I remember correctly) and he recons a 40% power increase but for the moment the engine is bog standard.
Next on the list is a installing a second battery with split charge system (I can do that now that there is space in the engine compartment!), 1000watt inverter under the passenger seat to run all my electronic gadgets and laptop, anderson jack plugs mounted externally for easy access.
I might also install bonnet pins (from Scorpion Racing) just in case.
Roofrack is on the agenda but for now money is my limiting (by the wife that is!) factor.
I also have grand plans for an expedition racking system in the back of the Disco - I have been looking around and have seen some metal square tubing and the plastic sheeting (as used on conservatory roofs) for flooring. The whole thing will bolt together (because I don't know how to weld) and will be able to fold away.

Hi Defender,
Wow, you are giving it the full works, I like the sound of the new intercooler and chipping it. I can't do that as I have no electronis on mine. I've just been reading the fuel pump adjustments in the LRe technical archive and thought I would give it a go. I've got to find an intercooler first which I am hoping to get from a local scrap yard and plumb it in. I am looking at removing the Cat in the exshaust and the EGR on the turbo to make things a bit easier on the tune up. Hoping that the above won't kill the old engine with the strian as it is 10 years old now.
I like the roof racks from Saftey Devices Ltd in Cambs. but have got to find the funds now as the gear box used up the funds for a while !!!!
Cheers,

Got some new indicators too !!!! Mind you I had to cut, trim and file a bit to get them to fit.
