hi
I have just had my Disco serviced
And now I can't get first gear or second untill she seems to warm up
is it inherant that the oil is poss low in the box.
when she has 6 miles on her she is ok. Strange.
Any ides

I had the same problem paul sounds like low oil level,the problem with my gearbox was once they had topped it up it was fine for a week or two then the problems came back not getting a good seal so it leaked,final outcome landrover replaced the gearbox

Hi, sounds to me like the wrong oil. Should be ATF or even better genuine L-R MTF, if they arent used to L-R s they may have used gear oil which is comparitvly thick..Until it gets warm. check with the Garage that serviced it. Hope this helps.

1st and 2nd does go on disco boxs, go along to difflock they got some good stuff that will do the box good and should cure minir probs

It probably is the wrong oil. But... I once over-filled my gearbox and it felt like I was stiring a bowl of bolts. Once I had drained out the excess it was sweet. Park on level ground, take off the gearbox filler nut and see what happens: you can rule this out with 2 minutes work.

going down stairs to try it now 9.45 Sunday morning,
had a few pop's last night so I cant drive her yet. might aswell get greasy.!!!!!
