Hi all,

Is this normal heater performance for a Disco II with 'climate control' - the electronic thingy rather than the dials?

When set to 'auto' at eg 70F (either on econ or not - makes no difference), the foot blower blows hot for around 10 mins. After around 10 mins the foot blower carries on melting by boot whilst the face level blowers now blow cold.

Any amount of adjustment cannot get the foot and face blowers at the same temperature. The face level ones are always much colder.

Is this Land Rovers unique brand of climate control - do I have to put up with melted boots and frozen arms??

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

The climate control on my 2004 TD5 disco sends warm air to the feet for the first 5-10 mins from cold, then as it reaches the set temperature gradually sends air to the top vents as well. The air isn't noticibly cooler from either. Is it set in economy mode or with the air conditioning on?

What year/model do you have?

Hi Shrek,

It's a 2003 XS 7s Td5.

As you mentioned it sends warm (hot!!) air to the foot vents for 5-10mins but then starts sending cold air to the face vents (the foot vent still stays hot)

The only way I can get warm air to the face vents is by turning the heater control up to 78-80F - then my soles start to melt!

It doesn't seem to make any difference whether the ECON is selected or not - there is always a noticable temperature difference between foot and face vents

Thanks for your interest
