View Full Version : Lightweight!

As the topic title says, I want a Lightweight! Now, it doesn't need to be in top condition. It needs to run, a little smokey is fine, it needs a good chassis most of all, and a decent bulkhead. The bodywork can be bashed and battered, interior may be a bit on the poor side, and most lights don't have to work, apart from 1! Why? Because it shows the circuit, or some of it at least works! :p
So, anyone got anything?

Lightweight prices seem to have taken on a mind of their own in recent times!!!

Yes, dunno why the prices have gone rocketing up. Must be due to their semi-"rareness".
I'm just trying to source some first, and then make a big push to be allowed one on the side-drive, for a project.
Nothing too much, but something not too little. Should keep me occupied enough till I can drive it too.

g7jtk, is that because of the trouble it is causing you? :p
Anyhow, I need to probably make another push to get one. I'm wanting an ideal one which shouldn''t require a complete strib down and rebuild. I'm after one which needs a fair bit of work, but not overly much.
Any pre '73 ones too?

Well, on Autotrader, Lightweights tend to go for around £1500-£4000. Commonly found in the £2500 region.
Not sure about the ones which need work though.
No it's just the bare minimum that I would take. Every thing has it's price.

You should have asked this a couple of months ago, my housemates just sold his 1969 2A Lightweight for £750, would have been ideal.

I think I did aska few months ago, but perhaps TOO many months ago.
Well mine is working again so it would be even harder to persuade me to sell it.
