View Full Version : Electric Window Problem 200tdi
Occasionally when I operate one of the windows I find that the other three also move in a random fashion. I end up having to play a tune on all four switches in order to get them all closed again. It looks as if it may be an earthing problem, but where?
This was taken from another post on these forums, but sadly with no answer, now I have the same damn problem.
Any Ideas ?
Thanks

If you think its an earth fault, disconnect the earths and run a cable to the battery. If they work after that, connect the cable to a good earth point on the chasis.
If its not an earth fault, I ain't got a clue.

I haven`t a clue either, it was someone elses post I found and just repeated the question, but I will try it in the morning.
Thought I`d better report my findings for what its worth, just lately I`ve had the centre console on a off a few time which meant having to remove the window switchs and plate they locate in.
I started out testing the ground connections (black wires) even though they are seperate they all share a common ground point, well my tester told me all was find, so I spray my good old wd40 on each plug before remounting them.
Guess I caused the bad connection to start with, because once reassembled it all works perfect again.
Cause of the problem, rushing to put the console back together and not plugging in the connectors properly.
Fix go over each connection ensuring they all work before you mount them.
Thanks for the replies anyway :)
