Discovery Rear Door Lock Problem

I have done the searches on here but cannot find the exact answer?!
Symptoms - central locking all works ok, then rear door will not open from inside or outside, locking lever goes up and down with remote, but cannot open it.
Last week took panel off and sprung lock (WD40 sprayed all internals) - worked for a week then the same again.
Is it one of these:

that I need - but symptoms sound different?

OK- from the LROI forum - tried taking the badge off the rear handle and spraying WD40 in at the mechanism - this has worked for now - but is the long term requirement a new spring??

I did that to mine a couple of years ago had no probs since

I suppose its depends on the condition of the spring and latch

I had the same problem as you. The dirt, salt & other rubbish gets into the mechanics of the lock. All I did was give it a very good dose of WD40 and it has been fine ever since.
