I've added this post to other forums to get the best possible feedback and appreciate some of you may have already seen it, so here's my question:

In late 2002, after completing the rebuild of my Series 3 109, I'm heading off to north Africa in it for a trans-Saharan trip lasting about four or five months (subject to the yanks not getting there ahead of me and dropping large ordenance on the place!).

My questions are what would you take, what wouldn't you bother with, what did you find most useful if you've been there already and what vehicle and personal kit do you think is necessary for that kind of expedition?

Over to everyone else!

Thanks

C.

Speaking from experience (in Manchester!) - a water pump! You cant do without it and its straight forward to replace!

With Maks' experience he would have to take a spare motor with him. LOL
