I thought I'd post some details of my 110 project here. Fuller details are on the website I've set up at http://www.trackbikes.co.uk/Brutus.htm.
I have a ex MOd 110 that is very basic I am preparing to go to Southern Spain and Morocco (permanantly) I plan to do quite a bit of work before i go but unfortunatly I only have 4 weeknds In which to do it as i work away from home during the week.
The list of things I want to do is;
Fit power steering
Sound proof the rear
Carpet the rear
Sound proof the front
Add a cubby Box
change the Ex mod seats
Build a Roof console
Add a split charging system along with an Inverter
Add a Radio and Speakers
and a few lminor changes like LED bulbs and a clock
If I have time Change the wheels and paint it.
so thats about it!!
So far today The Power steering has been fitted (i cheated my local independant LR bloke fitted it for me , the roof rack has b gone on and the seats have been fitted. In addition I've applied Noise Killer liquid to the panels and cut some 6mm ply panels to size and as i type this my wife is sticking the carpet to the panels.

Bench seats for the rear, the plastic handles for the heater controls and the fan, a wheel nut, nice wheels and tyres 265's would be nice and a rear headlining (i don't think your's is going to fit.) a roof console, a complete set of sprayed panels (sandglow yellow or deep blue):)

Got the carpeting in the rear finished today in the photo it looks almost white but thats due to the flash on the camera in reality it's a mid grey colour . I also finished fitting the Cubby box , blue LEDS a clock and a few other small bits..and I only had 1 electrical fire! it's amazing how much smoke 2 4 inch lenghts of wire can give off!!!

lucky you only had one, when helping 'remove' the wiring loom of a 110 over the weekend i discovered that there had been at least 5 fires and about 10 cables had fused togeter!

actually I saw a nice neon underbody light kit that i thought might look good;)
At least with the LEDs i can see what the dials are showing...

Now I understand... I thought you meant them god damn stupid blue washer jets!
My mate have a Skoda Superb with red LEDs in the roof dome light that are on all the time. It works really well, brings a kind of warm glow to the interior. You can see all the controls but it doesn't detract from driving visibility.

pimp ma 110!
Fitted the Wright Offroad acousitc matting today, The whole job took around 3 1/2 hours and it was well worth it, the reduction in noise is pretty impressive. I also made a template for the roof console i am building so i'll have a crack at making that tomorrow. Whilst i had the seats out I removed all the old Army radio connections, I ended up with a pile of coax about 10 meters long and various associated cables.

It's been a hectic day, finished off the console I made, fitted the radio, fitted the CB and the GPS. The CB was a piece of cake to fit and when i checked the SWR it was between 1.2 and 1.4 across the board it was literally a 5 minute job. It's just a case of tidying things up now , hopefully I'll post some photo's tomorrow.
Things still to do, Find some 8 spoke or similar wheels, I've been watching loads on ebay but it seems that If I am there at the end of the auction they go for £200+ but if I miss the end of the auction they go for under £75.ah wll C'est la Vie. I'll probably get some chequer plate door "cards" if I see some at a decent price Still need to sort out the headlining, It's just a matter of getting time to collect it..

Looking very good. Very interested in the difference the acoustic matting makes - is there a decent reduction in noise?

Yes I would go as far as to say there is a large decrease in sound. Bear in mind that being ex MOD it was just a bare metal shell, so it was particularly loud, there would have been no reason to fit a radio/ CD player as i wouldn't have been able to hear it but now I have the radio on at about 25% and i can hear it. I can even have conversations with my wife and not have to shout!
If you are in the wiltshire area pop over and have a listen.

There I was planning a nice quite weekend..until i picked up a set of 8 spokes on ebay for not much money ..£51 including tyres of which only 2 were worth keeping. I went to my local landy independant to see about getting some tyres and while i was there he said, "ah i have something here you might want..."
5 minutes later he pulls out a pretty decent roof lining.
"how much says I"..
It's Free say he
I love you says I...(well not in those exact words )
So out came the roof console and in went the headlining a few modifications later the roof console went back in.
I never did get the tyres, but hopefully we'll sort that out tomorrow. anyway getting back to the wheels, I tried to clean them up with a bit of Mr Muscle oven cleaner as they were a bit manky , I noticed that the previous owner had just sprayed over them when ever they got a bit rusty , whne I cleaned them a few layers of silver came off to reveal white underneath. I now had silver with white spot wheels.
Out came the nitromors and a flapper wheel and a couple of hours later i had a decent set of steel wheels. I wasn't able to get all the surface rust off but the worst of it is gone and what remains is more staining than rust. Just need to paint them tomorrow.
I did consider having them shot blasted and powder coated but that pretty much negates any savings buying them on ebay. I could have got new ones for the price of a the balsting and coating..
The attached pictures show the wheels after cleaning, after a dose of nitromores and finally after using the flapper wheel. I'll post a final picture once I've painted them tomorrow.

I finished painting the wheels yesterday with a bit of black hammerite, they aren't perfect but they are much better than before.
I currently have 4- 8 spoke 15 inch wheels , 2 decent 30x9.5x15 tyres, 1 brand new 235/75/15 Kuhomo tyre and a 6 hole japanese 4x4 wheel which had the new kuhomo on it all from ebay for a total of £56.
But in the last 5 minutes that has changed, thanks to the power of ebay I also have 4 jeep 8 spoke wheels with...wait for it......4 new 235/75/15 BFG All terrains on them...for....£50...woohooooooooo
so thats the 5 tyres sorted out and 4 wheels sorted out for £106 and i just need to convert 2 30x9.5x15 tyres and 5 various 8 spoke wheels plus the 5 standard into cash and 1 8 spoke wheels to use as a spare and I'll be a happy boy.

It might look tidy from a distance but close up it rougher than one of Rooneys old slappers...but it works and it cost very very little.
I'll take a few photos at the weekend for you. I suppose you would like some with the removeable panels off..industrial strength velco is your friend!

As promised here are a couple of photos of the console, they'll give an idea of how it's built. When i get a bit of time I intend to take it apart and tidy it up, but it wokrs fine as it is.
I have fitted a piece of 6mm ply under the roof lining so the console Is screwed through the roof lining into the ply. the only permanant pieces are the 2 sides and the surroned for the radio cage which are secured to each other with screws and a series of battens. The rest are panels held in place by velcro to give easy access.
I've also attached a photo of the new wheels and tyres, in the end 5 wheels and 5 new tyres ended up costing me £56..plus a small tin of hammerite...and I still have 2 tyres and an 8 spoke to sell. So I should almost break even...Result!
I went to a local tyre fitter today and they wanted £65 to remove the BFG's from the Jeep wheels and fit them to the 8 spokes. Went to the local landy dealer and gave him the 5 jeep 8 spokes in return for fitting the tyres, and getting me a spare 15 inch 8 spoke to use as the spare.
