We have two computers in this house on BB but have to swap the Ethernet cable over in the back of the 'box when we want to swop over computers but it would be nice to be able to use both online at once. The BB runs through our NTL set top box, is there an easy and cheap way to do this so that I can browse LRUK whilst Nathan looks at his porn sites :p

cheers, Tim

You need to use a cross over cable from a free network port, or ideally a router.

Tim me boy,

What you want is a router. You can, typically, have 4 machines accessing the WWW at anyone time. More if you go wireless!

we have 3 sharing through a router
good points
as no 2 pc's are ever actually downloading at exactly the same time you get full BB speed on all pc's
is possible to share files and printers and stuff,( scared the kids to bits the first time I printd out on there printers to "stop messing about on the blummin pucomter and get to bed" hehe
if you get a route with a built in firewall, the whole systhem is invisable to the trolls and bogey men out there.
plus many more.

bad points
um
er
thinking
hurts
time to stop.

Thats why I'm getting one. I'm tired of being hijacked.

Tim I use the "old" version of this (http://www.netgear.co.uk/routers_adsl_broadband_gateway.php#RP614) and have never had any probs with it.
