Hoodoo

The story to date is getting more interesting, but it does mean that re-opening is likely to take a bit longer than I anticipated.
As I said in a previous post, the land on either side in the TRO'd zone is classed as a SSSI, and damage has been done to this by people ignoring the TRO and driving around the quagmire when it gets really wet. This has caused the involvement of the CPRW (Council for the Protection of Rural Wales), who have the power to 'advise' the Council on exactly how they do the work required to repair the road. For instance, they can dictate how the spoil from any excavations has to be disposed of, and I'm sure most can appreciate the extra machinery that will be required to effect this disposal. Work already done by the Council on drainage ditches has come in for criticism owing to the soil dug up being left on the relevant bank, so you can imagine what will happen at the quagmire!
Work on the repairs has not started, pending a site meeting between the Council and the CPRW, and this is due this weekend. We're hoping that things will be constructive and work can start.
So - hats off to the idiots who have continually made a mockery of the principle of sensible 4x4 driving to date!
I've been told that there's a gathering of vehicles planned for the Ceriog Valley this weekend; if anyone reading this is attending, please stay away from the Wayfarer - you're likely to encounter Council officials, CPRW, and Police up there!
On the subject of the Police, I'm beginning to feel that, since the idiots won't listen to reason, the time has come to send a letter to the Chief Constable requesting direct Police action; but I'm still thinking about that, but I doubt I'll think for much longer!
Regards,
