do they suffer from screen burn like the crt's?
i ask as i dont use a screensaver to often.

No they don't, and modern CRT monitors don't either - screensavers stopped actually doing anything useful apart from entertainment about 1992.

LCD monitors can develop faults, same as any other bit of equipment, but they simply can't get screen burn because they don't have a phosphor coating to take the burned-in image. They can get bad pixels though, which show up as permanent dots on the screen. like specs of dust you can't wipe away.

No they dont. It's impossible. The way in which LCD monitors are constructed and the technology they use means screen burn is impossible. With CRT's, they work by firing an electron beam at a phosphorous coating on the inside of the screen. An image that is stationary will eventually be etched on the phosphorous coating hence 'screen burn'. LCD monitors do not utilise a phosphorous coating but are made up of thousands and thousands of light emitting diodes that are either turned on or off. A static image will make no differance at all and you will never suffer from screen burn.
