For Christmas my nan bought me a new bodyshell for my RC Truck.

The truck is a Traxxas TMaxx TRX2.5

The bodyshell is a Stage 1 PIckup (i think...)

I trimmed it on saturday and started painting it yesterday...

Very nice! ... you putting a galvanised chassis on it? ;)

Well, the chassis main rails are plastic and the flat part of it is anodised aluminium...so i suppose it's sort of galvanised, but in the aluminium way...

I still have to paint the headlight surround/radiator grille black, and paint the pickup bed black.

There's also been on helluva lot of trimming because after removing the edges from the vacuum forming, i discovered the front wheelarches were going to have to come of, otherwise it wouldn't be able to turn when braking due to the wheels rubbing.

The bodyshell is about 1-1.5 inches wider than the original.

Well, it's niether a stage one nor a defender as stage one's haven't got wheel arch flares and defenders don't have split windshields :)

I guessed stage 1 because of split windscreen and flat front. Nearest thing i could find...

This only has rear wheel arch flares now :D

Painting completed. Unfortunately the finish isnt wonderful as some of the paint ran, more layers of masking tape needed next time methinks

Anyways, it's a learning experience, the next one will be a lot better.

I might add a few details such as decals etc but havn't thought that far ahead yet...

Pic attached before i get it muddy later in the week.... :D

Hehe i might give it a try.

Most of electrics are in waterproof housings anyway and it wouldnt take long to sort them out.

Just need snorkel and raised exhaust...

Those tires are much too large!

If you are referring to mine, thats the standard size, and they have to be quite wide for it to actually handle at all on tarmac...

Will do :)

Err, according to Traxxas it should do 40mph....thats when it's tuned right so half an hour or so of tinkering might achieve that.

I got a Savage 25 at home.. Its awesome, and great for jumps and stuff. Only problems are with the big wheels make turning a bit crap with weak servos and it keeps stripping teeth off the main gear. :( Its currently sat in the kitchen covered in muddy water. Cant be bothered cleaning it yet, takes ages.
