Happy New year to all
Please can anybody tell me if it is possible to fit a hard top and cab roof to a 127 rapier body. If so, where and for how much can they be purchased. Also, are they actually in use with the military

Thanx :D :D :D

The 127 Rapier Tractor was only produced with a soft top for military use - primarily as the vehicle had to be transportable inside a Chinook, which was possible if the tilt and reload racks were removed. It should be possible to add standard civilian One-Ten / 110 / Defender Truck Cab components (as also found on a very small number of British military vehicles) without too much work, though the canopy will need to be shortened and modified. Some public utility companies use 127/130 variants with 2-door cabs (though 4-doors seem more common) and it should be possible to swop the rear body and upper cab components, though these bodies are usually of the plain box Quadtech type. Such vehicles are usually advertised by dealers at £6,500-10,000, so this is not really an economic suggestion.
