View Full Version : Search light on the cheap
We after the debarcle with my stainless steel exhaust today I fancied something a bit more interesting to tinker with (and Tina was at work!!) so I pulled out the box of bits that had been lurking in the shed for some 5 years now, quite an unusual box of rubbish, a 1955 Aerial headlamp shell, a 7" concave headlight, BSA Goldstar headlamp brackets, the metal cover off an old water heater element and some other junk, but when it's all together it should be a cracking search light. Especially with a 130W Halogen bulb. :o
I'll keep you posted on progress!!
Should be nice when its done. howee you fitting the second alternator to the 109, to power all the lights on it, it already looks like an impressive christmas tree
Bosch 90A alternater already mate ;) H\D split charging system + 3 H\D Batteries.:rolleyes:12V & 24V jump start capable. ;)
LOL are u sure thats enough,
Owen I don't do toy town. ;)
I marked the centre of the head light shell and using a hole cutter cut 100mm hole in to weld the cap into position, the reason I did this is because of the size and shape of the convex halogen lense, I thought it would be best to have a good space between the fittings and the back of the shell as I imagine it will get rather hot. ;)
Off car booting tomorrow if its not raining so find a Mini or British bike head light trim, the bit that holds the headlight in, hopefully a 50p car boot bargin! :D
Adam, we need to talk bumpers, you have a pm
